Laura completed her Law Degree and Diploma in Legal Practice at the University of Dundee, graduating in 2008. She thereafter completed her traineeship in a Criminal Law firm in Dundee, before joining Ormistons Law Practice in 2012.

With over 10 years of experience in mental health law, Laura represents clients on both civil and forensic orders under the Mental Health (Care and Treatment)(Scotland) Act, as well as assisting clients who wish to oppose guardianship applications. She has experience in dealing with young persons with mental health problems, as well as those with eating disorders.

Laura was appointed as curator ad litem by the Mental Health Tribunal for Scotland in 2014 and regularly acts in this capacity for patients throughout Scotland.
